headphone or earphones?

hi :)

my budget is 1500-2000 and i wuz initially looking for headphones but some one suggested earphones have better sound quality than headphones but the later is more comfortable...pls clarify this issue.. and, if possible pls suggest some models with price.

sony xd 200 ~ 1.5k headphones n xd 100~1.1k headphones
i <3 them <i hav da xd200 which has slighltly better quality than xd 100

then theres creative hq 1300~ 1.6k which r comfy headphones
 
headphone = better ergonomics - suited for computer usage as they are relatively less portable (but the XD200 comes with a 3mts cable)

If headphones,get XD100/XD200 (i have the XD100 and the looks are deceptie,even though it feels very fragile,its INCREDIBLY tough.I had knocked over the headphones like 10 times as the long wire tends to entangle in the legs)

earphone = better portability - if its a IEM,better noice isolation and due to which better sound clarity.Suited more for Portable music usage.They can get a pain in the ear if used for computer usage for long periods though.

In which case get the EP-630s

have not heard/seen any one of them. but have seen lot accolades for the EP-630, but this one is an ear-phone not a headphone.
