Audio Headphones in the range of 2500/-

A friend has a budget of 2.5K for a pair of headphones. His old Sony noise cancelling ones died....

Which is the best one in that price range ? any ones from Sennheiser or something??
 
stretch the budget and ask him to import Sennheiser HD485 at under 3.5k from US including shipping charges to India. Trust me it is a league apart from all the cans available locally in this range
 
I had got HD485 for 3k too from amazon uk via my sister :)

tell him to buy that anyhow as it is great :D

else tell him to buy HD457 or HD280 or HD202 from here
 
Where in India can I buy the HD 457 ?? how much does it cost anyway ??

And increasing the budget is out... I cant even import it... that will be another problem.

Even I am looking forward to buy a pair of headphones and stuck at Sony MDR XD200 and Sennheiser HD202 since my budget is a little low (under 1.5-2k).
Can somebody suggest me which one should I go for?
My requirements are rich and powerful bass with clean audio beats output both in gaming and music listening with comfort to my ears...
Apart from that, which one is more robust and worth to posses?
Kindly suggest.
 
Nehru Place and Apple outlets in NCR is where you may find Sennheiser produsts.
Apart from that, there is an authorized outlet at Kalkaji (address not confirmed) where you may find a variety in Sennheiser products.

Ok... me and my friend went to the Apple Store (not anymore though... it is juts an Apple Premium Reseller :p) and checked out the 202 and the HD 457.

The 202 was very ordinary...not all that great. and it is more expensive than the HD457.

The HD 457 was awesome. It was very good. It was priced at 2490/-. The 202 was 2900/-. (in reality, the 457 is 40$ and the 202 is 35$. Shows brilliant Indian pricing).

And now, he is thinking of the HD 485s.

Does it need an amp to run well ?? Or will ir run well enough off a computer's sound output or a Shuffle's output ??

no it can work great without an amp :D

but it shines with a good sound card :)

on ipods it sounds great :eek:hyeah:

what is the cost in India?

did you see the HD280 too?
 
Can someone find out if HD 485 is available in your city ?? This guy's dad doesnt want to buy it from abroad as in case the headphones goes Kaput, you cant do anything abt it.... He is hell bent on buying it in India.

Can you please find out of 485 is available and for how much ??
