Hi guys,

Posted a thread long back for headphones, got recommendation for HP
805/840, But failed to find them here in hyd. Today I got to hear SE700i with
HPM 70 In-ear canalphone. they looked pretty well to me, light weight & portable.
Can I get something like that for PC ( I mean earphones spc. In-ear
canalphone), around same price of HP805/840.

or HP805/840 is better than these, if yes I'll get HP.. from chennai next month. I want either of two for music only.

Please give suggestions
Thanks

canalphones-> higher sensitivity, better isolation, good for portables... for pc, headphones r a better choice :)

Thanks, so for PC it's headphones. I'll get HP.. from chennai.

One more thing my brother has a 2GB i-pod nano. although its earphones
sounded good to me ( I am no audiophile). I want to gift him a better one.
Any suggestions on this.

depending on your budget, something from the sennheiser line

MX 300/350/400/450 earbuds for lower end

CX 300 series canalphones for much higher :P

That 'HP' is actually Philips. It's Philips SBC-HP840.

i went to our local philips arena and they said philips had stopped producing the HP800 series :( Is it true

Quite likely, since I couldn't find either. Now, they have SBCHP250 and SBCHC130 (Wireless). You may still be able to find 805/840 though.

if they have discontinued these models then what is the option available to me?

they were pretty much the best choice in that price range... go hunting for them in electronics shop/ music worlds etc... might be some left ..you might end up lucky :)
