Storage Solutions Hell! with this annoying error for drive letter assignment

Under win xp sp3 i keep getting the following error while removing or re-assigning any drive letter.:bomb:

This happens to every drive. And none of the drives files are in use. Antivirus is also turned off.

How to get rid of this extremely irritating annoying error?

How to unlock drive and safely perform drive letter assignment without rebooting for each and every drive.

I tried 3rd party tools like partition magic and EaseUS Partition Master and all say to reboot. wtf??

Os is under perfect condition and has got no viruses or whatsoever.

Short answer: Not possible. There is no tweak available to do this, you might try switching drives to AHCI in BIOS and 'Optimise for removal', but even that is not a guarantee that Windows will not lock the drive while it is working.

The other route is making your disks dynamic instead of basic, but you will have to reformat all drives.
