Hello,

I have a blog in which I cover movies, books, games, TV shows and other such things. It has been more than 8 months since I launched the blog. I post 4-5 article each month and get ~1500 hits on average (I know, low :|)

Anyway, I submitted a request to Google for Adsense on 24th December 2010. On 11th Jan 2011 (18 days after), I got a reply from them that pointed out this problem...

Issues:

- Domain ownership not evident

---------------------

Further detail:

Domain ownership: To complete our review, we need to confirm your ownership of the site you've submitted. Please follow the steps below:

- Access the source code of your website.

- Create a separate page on the site and paste "This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions."

- Resubmit the application as described below after replacing the current URL in the 'Website URL' field with the URL of the page where you have pasted the snippet.

I did exactly what they told me to. My blog is based on WordPress. So I went to my admin panel, created a page, pasted that text into it and resubmitted with the page's URL. This was on 11th January.

As of this posting, it's been ~25 days since I have sent my application and Google hasn't replied. Whenever I open the Google Adsense page, I just get a message that I can't access my account as my application is still under review. Almost as if to rub it in, they tell me I'll get a reply within a week of my application.

I don't seen any link to re-submit either. Anyway, can any of you please help me with what's going on? Is there anything I could do to ensure I get a reply speedily (if at all)? Please help!

Adsense is approved manually. Which means there is a huge backlog as someone in Hyderabad has to actually sit through an check everything. It takes time.

Welcome to the club. They have become quit strict nowadays in approving Indian Account. You will keep on getting different reasons for denial.

Your application will be rejected for sure.

Reason : Your site contains copyright material which google does not accept at any condition. Do not waste your time waiting for approval.

Ok guys... now it has been FIFTY days since I submitted by Google Adsense request and they still haven't replied.

And I was recently reminded by a blogger friend that I did something very wrong and stupid. Google had told me to create a page with this text

This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions.

I should have created a basic HTML page but I actually went and created a WordPress "page" and submitted that URL. My friend (who received the same message for his blog and made the HTML page) got his Adsense license fairly quickly but I'm still waiting for a reply. I may have done something wrong but then Google should *reject* my application, right? Not just ignore it and not allow me to reapply?

Do you guys know of ANY way I can contact the Adsense people? Their FAQ section seems to have nothing on this issue and their "forums" are really inactive. Posted there long ago but got no response. Is there any other way I can contact them? Or any way I can null my own request so as to reapply?

And finally, I guess it's time to start thinking about alternative options for advertising... Can you people suggest any other service that places relatively-unobtrusive ads like Google Adsense and pays the blogger? Hmmm? Please help!

I just created a new Google account and submitted a new request via that. I hope they are atleast slightly quicker this time in responding.
