Help about buffalo WHR G125

hi all

i jus got this router and set it up in the default config usin the cd provided..
i enterer an encryption key too...
then i connected to the wifi thru my phone's wlan
it asked for the key...entered it, and was able to connect to the net
then i disconnected ad reconnected again, but it didnt ask for the key again..
same experience with my bro's itouch

1-i don want this...i want the key to be asked each time anythin tries to connect

2-is this current setup secure...is there any way some outsider can gain access to my n/w

3-ive heard a lot abt the buffalo firmware..
do i really need it..?
what are the other options that open up by installing this?
thanks...

Dont worry pal, your phone is already doing that, the first time it asked u the key, it stored it when it was successfully connected. That how it works across the globe.

You can change that by writing your own firmware. Start with tomato first.

If you are not using WEP then its secure.

U mean tomato, its personal choice.

Tomato on WHR G125 seems to have an incompatibility issue with Intel 2200 based wifi chipsets. So stay away from it as of now. Alternately use dd-wrt.
if you are not that fussy about QoS, stick to the buffalo firmware.
