HELP ASUS P320 driving me mad

I recently got a Lexar 2 GB MicroSD card with my ASUS P320 from CROMA, I put it in my ASUS P320, I create a 3 new folders in it and name them Apps, Docs, Pics. I shut down the cell, remove the MicroSD card, keep it aside, turn on the cell, again turn it off, and insert the MicroSD card, voila, the folders inside the card are gone, just some weird file nothing else
Also getting weird insert SIM message intermittently, a restart takes care of that, but it's irritating, will be checking with Vodafone soon regarding that
This phone was just purchased on 21st of this month, so any help or if the above is normal, thank you for any suggestions you can give
 
try the phone with some other sim of your friend and see if the problem persists....if it still doesnt get solved, then go to the service center and dump it on the heads of the Asus guys
 
omg , now the asus pda showing its true colors or wat....just try as hotstuff said and keep us posted on the same please...
 
That's true, but what about the MicroSD card, also, Im not sure but I think when you call someone the touchscreen should get locked I think, but that is not the case as because of touching some other contacts my call got disconnected and connected to someother person, can any Windows Mobile user comment, this is turning out to be a heartburn for me!

ouch , that shouldnt happen..... i dont think so the screen gets locked...but the contacts feature should get locked....last when i was checking on my pals HTC touch....and we wanted to see a contact when a call was in 'progress' the contact list did not open......only the menu and other things were accessible using the start button etc...........omg...! wats happeninig.....

Edit : for once i suggest u do a factory reset on the phone and check.....also the mem card thing shouldnt happen......what u create should stay as is....try the card in a card reader on the pc if u can and check as well....
 
i guess the screen does not get locked...try with the manual lock button engaged. P320 surely has some glaring shortcomings...

Your suggestion for the card reader is great, will try that, as for resetting to factory default's already done that twice it reinstall's the complete OS and still the same thing, the more critical the problem is bcos I install my applications to the MicroSD card as space is a constraint and once the files are gone the programs are corrupted :@
 
Most probably you got a faulty phone mate....

Get it replaced ASAP.... i have used like 3 P320's all work great without any problem :)

do u have another card lying around , it may be a issue with the card.....did u try the card reader ? ......OR.....format the card using the phone and then try....
 
Update, turned ActiveSync to USB card storage mode, formatted the card, then again tried unfortunately unable to reproduce the earlier issue, now for the Insert SIM,m hasn't come up the full day, will still check for that
 
Changed the SIM card all the problems gone except new one started, sometimes there's a file named XdumpBuffer.html in my My Documents folder on the phone, any ideas what it is, also if I have the earphones on and happen to restart the phone as soon as it boots I get a long shriek sound from it and goes away after 2-3 seconds

Any help ?
 
Now this is really making me crazy, can anyone who's used P320 comment

1. Completely shut down the phone

2. Plugin the earphones

3. Now turn on your phone

4. Do you hear any static

P.S. I took it to CROMA, the guy gave me all excuses that it is fine, my persistence led him to open another brand new phone and guess what same static noise, so your opinion is needed, if you do not hear any sound the next step is contacting ASUS directly
 
If your local dealer gives excuses...Contact Asus directly, tell them about all these problems from first to last, they shall get you a replacement 'hopefully'. Also dont forget to put in that your local dealer refused to replaced...

honestly i have no idea about asus cell phone service so just gave a option.

For the static as you mentioned, may I ask whether you can hear the sound when you don't use the earphone? First please get to know that there is electrical current when you start the OS to make the P320 work. Commonly, it is normal that you can hear a quite little sound, which doesn't influence you using the phone if you are in the very quiet environment, especially you use the earphone. Meanwhile, it is also due to one's feeling and sensitivity. Some user may hear the sound but others can't.
I am sorry that we can't judge whether the sound in your P320 is normal or not just via mail. So, if you still think it is abnormal and you are worried about it, please contact the retailer as soon as possible, and they will help you send the device to the local service center. The engineers will have a further check on the spot then.

For the attached file you sent in the other mail, it is the system file of the Windows Mobile 6.1. Please don't change or delete the system files, or else, your P320 won't work well due to OS abnormal. If you want know about the system file, please contact Microsoft, who release the WM6.1 OS for P320 to get more information. Thanks for your understanding.
