hello there

had tough luck getting Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO MACRO 1:2

tried everywhere old delhi to photofair..no luck

though the sigma dealer is located in mumbai...

anyone..suggestions

i made up my mind to buy this lens considering its cost..dunno want to go for expensive ones as of now..:huh:

any shops in mumbai that might ship to delhi...or some forum member if can buy and ship it to me...will be grateful

going to ladakh in february end
 
i would have suggested the sardarji's shop in old delhi but you have already checked there.

how much does the lens cost ??
 
@ Yogesh Sarkar - seure, thats whhat I need the lens for....

@shade - the US price is $180, from KMD it will come around 12-12.5k

at the photo fair I was quoted a price of rs. 9k, unfortunately at that time I did not have cash at hand. The next day, I went with money but they were out of stock.

I don't wanna spend more than 10k on the lens, since I need the money for trip too.

Really need a mumbai member to step up and help me out here.............

Any help would be sincerely and deeply appreciated........
 
Are you in the nikon camp or canon camp? In both you have better options for roughly the same price :P.

I've got one along with my Sigma SD10.. To be frank my experience with it was not pretty good.. May be due to the cam or my lack of expertise..

would there be any issue with bokeh with Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS f/4-5.6
 
@Vinay: I got the same lens, I think its okay in terms of performance, but good considering its price, only drawback is that it need good light for decent shots.
 
@titana : u want bokeh or not? AFAIK increase F stops and bokeh will go away. lower it as much as possible and you get bokeh.
 
The bokeh is not dreamy like my 85 f/1.8 but does the job for a tele. This lens is miles ahead of the sigma in sharpness and color.

Yeah.. Its quite OK only.. Too much purple fringing on high contrast conditions & non-sharp images at close up shots.. Moreover my Sigma SD10 is not a better camera either.. Most of the times i prefer my D40..
