HELP: Cant Place an order online using HDFC/Bank Of India Debit Card

Recently when i was placing an order online at amazon.com using my bank Of india Debit card. it was declined. i didnt think much at that time. and later tried using with my HDFC Bank Debit card. The order was of about $468 and i had enough balance in both of the accounts..
I also tried checking out through Google Checkout but it too said the payment method is not valid.
what can be the problem guys?
the HDFC one is an international debit card.
do i require a credit card instead?

Please help. i need to place order by tomorrow anyhow..

Even I am facing problem with HDFC credit card. Asking to register for 3D master code on a already registered account.

An Indian debit card will work only in sites which support Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code. This is due to RBI regulations. Since Amazon or Google Checkout doesnt support VBV/MSC the transaction will be declined.

Till now I have seen only Moneybookers payment gateway which support Verified by Visa and hence Indian Debit Cards.

but man it works on many international website though they dont ask for Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code. i have used just now on that and even in past too

^ Is it a debit card or credit card? A credit card will work fine, the problem is only with debit cards issued by Indian Banks.

Guys just make a VCC using HDFC netsafe and it'll work fine with any international site, it acts just as a credit card. :hap2:

If its not working for transaction within India with VBV, then contact the bank immediately.

International transactions won't work anyway.
