Help:Cant play DVD-Videos on PS2 Slim

What exactly happens? On a PS2 slim you need to press & hold down the power button until the 'Sony Computer Entertainment' Logo is displayed & leave it exactly at the same time.If you just press & release the power button whilst a DVD movie is loaded then it would just take you back to it's main menu.

^^ i tried that method.. i press it until it appears still cannot play dvd movies 
like according to u, how much seconds should i hold the button on the ps2? if i press it for more than 2 secs, it turns off and shows red light

Can't describe an exact time frame but hold it until the music hits for with SCE logo & release it right at the same time.One sec more or less would force it to either shutdown or go to the main menu.BTW is it an original DVD movie?

Nope.Originals play very well.Infact I had tried using mutiple DVD's.Even those el cheapo 4-in-1 DVD's which worked fine.Have tried using an Original Terminator 2 Director's Cut Dual Layer DVD & that worked fine too.So no issues with playing dual layer DVD's is what I can assure you.
