WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB OR

SEAGATE 7200.12 500GB 16MB...IS A 32MB AVAILABLE?
REAGRDS.

Go for a 1TB. I did the same mistake and now I am running out of HDD space. Price difference is about 2K. But no headaches in future. Even I am constantly downloading and installing games.

has anyone got any problems with the seagate 7200.12 series, like the drive not being detected at startup, etc.

I have had such problems with 2 or 3 7200.12s. Put it down to shipping or personal mishandling as haven't heard of any such problems online. RMAed those.

Like i said, go with WD 500GB 32MB --> 2.8K

Does the BLUE come with 32MB buffer ?? I saw in the WD site that only GREEN and BLACK have 32MB cache. Someone please clarify as I am also gonna buy one.

No.it's not available ..i tried for 640gb black..which is also not available...

but 1TB black is available....

500 GB 7200.12 drive have 2600/- in ameerpet, hyderabad. might be in CTC it would come around 2500/- + or -

1TB GB 7200.12 have 4.4k in ameerpet, hyderabad. in CTC might be around 4.x, depends.

Seagate is good rather than, WDC.

i have been a seagate FAN since their 2 GB, 4.3 GB HDD in earlier age.

only one or 2 times i had break down.

ya previously 7200.11 has issues. those are fixed with firmware issues and works perfectly for last 6 months above, 24 x 7..

good luck..

Had picked up 4 of them about 3 months back from SMC Delhi. Paid about 2850 a piece.
2 of them are configured in RAID 0. Had no issues with any of them. They are quite and a good replacement of the WD 160s that I had earlier.

1. One of the best 7200 rpm with high speeds

2. Huge performance difference from 7200.10

3. Single Platter , Slim Profile , Cheap , Excellent Service

4.No idiotic product lineup like WD
