Yeah SDHC performs a notch higher than the regular SD ones; But for a cam that hardly matters;

Congos on the cam as well; :D
 
sdhc cards support much higher capacities than normal sd cards, and they offer faster file transfer with pc. but it doesnt affect much in camera unless you are writing very large files like RAW, and hence wont affect you camera performane as it doesnt support RAW..:)

ohh ....well then il go for the transcend ...i saw a sandisk 8gb which is much more expensive but if it dosnt affect the camera in any significant way then il go for the transcend .

thanks ..but i havent got the camera yet. itl b arriving on the 20th with my moms friend . cant wait :-)
 
sandisk has much better reliablity than transcend.. :hap5:

unless you really need such a high capacity, i would suggest the following card here. with it you would also be getting a usb reader so that you wont depend on the pc to have an sdhc compatible slot.. :)
 
basically sdhc is high capacity :P

its not really indicative of the performance

i am noob so thats all i know :)
 
Actually SDHC cards have higher transfer rates than normal SD cards. In fact they are more or less standardized with different classes (Class 2, Class 4, Class 6) to indicate the speed.

But as people said, since Camera images are just a few MB, there will not be a noticeable difference unless you are shooting a continuous burst or RAW images.

SDHC doesnt mean a faster transfer rate in any way :)

SDHC simply means high capacity. SD is upto 4Gb. everything above it is SDHC.

The Class values actually refer to the minimum speed which hte card will support. The highest is Class6 and most cards u get normally are Class 6 certified. The point is that some like sandisk certify an even higher speed. So each class 6 card can do a minimum speed (i think 12mbps, not sure :ashamed:), but some can do more as well.

But in your case wont make much of a diff anyway :P so just get a 8Gb SDHC, the cheapest u can find with Class6 ;)
 
i was looking at 3 brands...transcend, sandisk and kingston. transcend happens to be the cheapest and so il go for that

any other good brands that i should be looking at
