CPU/Mobo Help : Comp gettin switched off

My 6 month old comp havin config of XFX 650i mobo, proc of E4300 and XFX 8600GT Fatla1ty gfx card with 2bg RAM and 320 gb hdd..

since last 2 months, 7 out of 10 times; the computer shuts itself down within the booting process which lasts for 10 seconds..if not then while any playing games like NFS MW or CoD Modern Warfare; it shuts down...

i thought this to be a graphics card prob. and gave the card to the dealer..i got my gfx card back with the status of OK and nothin wrong with it..now if i plug in that XFX card, comp. shuts down within 3-4 seconds...

currently on a very old gfx card and the problem still persists albeit a bit less..

can it be a power supply problem >>> i`m using a 400W pwr supply..

Yes SMPS or maybe CPU temperature (heatsink is not properly mounted).

very much looks like a PSU problem

Unplug all extra connections like fans, CD drives etc and test

Ur SMPS may not be able to provide enough power to CPU

power issue. i guess ur using a generic smps, get a better one something like the powersafe 400W gold minimum.
