^^ Yep, Efficiency is exactly that.

But, Im not a Science student, So, I really dunno the details of it, but the Efficiency does effect the Output of the PSU as well. Its quite obvious rather.

Again, were just comparing what the members of the Forum think to whats PSU companies rate.

I was just making a point clear, that you CANNOT add up PSU rail ratings. Thats all :).

Yeah, the point is clear and sortof knew that from the start, but we have to have some form of having a clue as to how much load an SMPS can handle and I figure that adding up the rails gives a partial result to that, if not the entirely accurate result.

More accurate result can ofcourse be given by power ratings, voltage stability etc. but none of them will be able to dictate whether a PSU can handle a specific rig. That, I guess comes only from experience and sharing of that experience :)

so basically...the CM 600 will be a nice option right ??? If so then great.......coz thats wat my decided option was.......

I think if budget permits, you should go in for a HX520 or HX620 (I dont know the availability of the former here) Only if ur budget doesn't permit, then go for CM 600W

well the antec ones go slightly out of budget here....luks like ill stock to the CM600.....and i havnt seen the HX520 around .....

^^ you getting the 8800GTS na? when is it due?

For your purpose the CM600 is enough, I was just pondering over something b/w the 2 PSU's for something like the HD 2800 for which the CM 600 will be *just* enough...

Dont worry about HX520 coz IMO its just a touch lesser than HX620 So probably priced between 5.5k to 6.5k which is greater than ur budget anyways

well i can extend till 5k max for the PSU...and the GTS is due in the 1st week of jul.....and alos.....my system aint too good....so i can get a better PSU wen ill be upgrading.......so the CM will be ok....what about NMD ?? will the CM600 be enuff for him ??? coz this is his thread na :D
