CPU/Mobo Help, Diffrence between AMD and Intel Prices

i saw AMD Phenome II 1090t
and
Intel i7 970 both are six cores but there is Hugh price diffrence betweem them

please can u tell me why there is such a big price diffrence between this two brands

i am refering Generally

generally AMD is Cheaper than Intel

wats the reason friends...
please help me out
 
i7 970 and X6 1090t compare the performance , by a huge marfin , i7 clearly outperforms the phenom II even the new sandy bridge 4 core processors outperform the 1090t , though the old 4 core i7s were at par with 1090t
