hi guyz,
iam having a lot of trouble with my keyboard.the thing is that some of my keys on the keyboard r messesd up. so for example whenever i press the e button w also is typed with it ! sometimes there is no such problem and sometimes it happens again! could it be some virus or something or is my keyboard bad ?

ok bluffy, is the problem only confined to neighbouring keys or you press T and M appears, also is it widespread or confined to only some keys like E & W.

You can also goto control panel/regional lang options/lang's/text service input lang/details - check if in installed services keyboard-US is present.

Also goto control panel/keyboard/ check the values for repeat delay and rate.

Finally, somehow i feel it's hardware problem, lets see.

thanx mate , but its really not that widespread but yeah more than 10 keys r effected !u know when i press d ,s comes with it likewise when i press 3, 4 comes with it !sometimes this problem is vanished like now iam typing this and there is no problem !

Its a screwed up membrane in the keyboard. Its a hardware issue obviously not a software one. Get a new keyboard. Cheap samsung ones are like 200 bucks.

The keys on your keyboard are basically arranged as a matrix of switches. In such an arrangement, the rows are asserted one at a time in sequence and the columns are read or vice versa.

From what you have written, it is clear that the keys pressed are each mistaken for its adjacent column key. This can happen due to a shorting of adjacent column lines.

My advice is before buying a new keyboard, open this one and carefully clean up the dust between the IC pins and the pins of the connectors where the flat ribbon cables terminate. Don't spend too much time and effort on this because as chaos mentioned, a new keyboard will be quite cheap.
