30K (increased from the earlier 10k budget)

Motherboard - Mercury Nvidia Chipset

GPU - NA

RAM - Kingston 1 GB DDR2

Monitor - Dell 19"

SMPS - Gigabyte 460W SMPS (NEW)

Suggest how are the Zebronics PSU (http://www.zebronics.net/Zeb_450powersupply.asp), If I have to go for PSU only (As I got to know the prices are increased today itself only), then whether the above PSU would be reliable?

Wud b pretty decent for office usage...

the above suggested PSU is reliable... So dont worry... its better than any zebronics PSU :)
 
Sorry Guyz to make this thread a confusing one... But I have another query, My vendor has given me quotation for Intel processor as follows:

1) Processor : Dual Core E5700 : Rs. 3030

2) Motherboard : GA-G41M-Combo : Rs. 2535

3) Cabinet : Elite 310 : Rs. 1600

4) Ram : Corsair 2GB 1333Mhz : Rs. 1200

5) Sony DVD Writer : Rs. 950

Total : Rs. 9355

Since the rig will be mainly used for Office Purpose (Word 2007, Tally, Browsing) & 24/7 Operation. Hows is the above quotation for me. Will it be better than AMD one for future and reliability purpose. I will not be upgrading it soon..
 
Nope AMD one is much better!!! You can save on the AMD CPU and go for a dual core Athlon II X2 250 ~ 2.65k if you want to cut costs!!
 
AMD is better in ur case.

@jatin from which shop u quoted the prices.

u can opt for athlon x2 250 if there is no gaming and multithreading.

the gigabyte mobo mentioned above may not be available in CHD.its available at smcinternaional.com

And why??? 5700 is definitely much better than 250, though granted that 440 would be the better CPU among the few CPU's discussed here.....

Just in case if he needs to upgrade few years down the line the AM3 would be a much better bet. As a complete package the AMD is superior.

If no intentions of any upgrades at all and if he is gonna just use this for the same Office s/w use for 3-4 years then either of the two would do fine. Intel will consume a few watts less too!!
 
Will there be any difference in speed or working of my current rig & Intel combo?

Do guide me, If I go for AMD combo, will it effect my office work ( Haven't used AMD product, so cant comment on its reliability), since Office is the first priority than gaming. And yes I do like to play games, but at normal resolution or even at low resolution will be fine for the time being..

The performance of AthlonII X2 250 and the Intel E5700 will be more or less the same for your usage and both these will be a good step up from the current P4 setup you have.

The AMD mobo has 785G integrated graphics shich is better than the G41 in the Intel for gamin etc... (Though it will allow only older titles and very low details)

Ya I know, there is a lot of problem in availability of Gigabyte Motherboard in CHD. The prices are quoted by LYNX Chandigarh.

K, so I have decided to buy AMD Combo now, another question will be regarding the online deal with SMC. how much safe is it? And which method of delivery should I opt for? Since the products listed are not available in CHD, so SMC is the only option for me.

SMC is very reliable. They are the national distributors of CoolerMaster, MSI, Razer etc etc.

Ofcourse just like any other electrical appliance at your home, usage and watts are related....

So, (for knowledge purpose only) if I used my rig as a download one, so the same amount of watt will be used both in Intel & AMD Processor. The watt quoted 65W and 95W are at the high priority of both the processor?

No, just like electrical appliances which have different wattage rating, one is supposed to be a 65W processor, another is 95W, so at same load levels Intel would use less. I dont think though the difference would be substantial. Though do keep in mind 65W and 95W are TDP(thermal dissipation point) which means heat generated at certain point. Power consumed in electricity would have a different calculation, though TDP is indirectly related to electricity consumption as well.....

Ok.. If I want to know how much energy is consumed by my rig, how can I do so? ( What will be the electricity amount / hour of running pc )

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.80 GHz Review - Page 11/13 | techPowerUp

Keep in mind that the E5200 has a 2.5GHz clock speed and AthlonII X2 240 has 2.8GHz clock speed. Also with the AthlonII X2 250 has a more efficient C3 stepping.
In your case the E5700 and the AthlonII X2 250 are both clocked @ 3.0GHz. So the power consumption difference would narrow down a bit.
 
do not think much about power consumption.during download AMD and intel both clocked+voltage down to 800Mhz around 1.000v.

and for day to day usage ur pc consumes less than 100W, for lcd monitor add 20w more.
