Well my friend is looking to get a audio setup which can play heavy death metal with full audio clarity.....

Will be looking for modding the setup to give the best o/p....

Budget : 20k (for speakers and amp)

sound card and computer extra .....

I was looking into these Jamo S406 which are for around 20k on ebay...

Would also like to know where can I get them in Mumbai

Other equivalent setups suggestions are also invited

Its not just the S406 speakers..its a entire home theater package with

S406

S 40 CEN

S402 SUR

for 19.5k....

@greenie : Are JBL speakers better than this setup...aslo what is the price and where is it available

Can someone suggest an entire package which will be enough for a the good music experience : including speakers, sound card and maybe a amp

Are you looking for a stereo or surround setup?

mostly a surround sound setup :ohyeah: ..... but if a stereo setup is giving a better output i might consider that too....

its for a friend who wants to set it up... and I plan to mod it and get my hands dirty with his setup as a learning experience.... With his speakers as my lab experiment as I plan to learn to make a monster setup of my own someday :bleh: ....

i think jamo should also be fine for metal,

chaos had and now rahul has his s408 so they might be able to put some light on that.but the jamos are great value.

Jamos are okay but I'd pick a JBL or Polk for heavy metal over it.

Other options are Cerwin Vega, Klipsch and Mordaunt Short. Basically anything that either has a metal dome or horn loaded tweeter should do well.

Any specific model which I should go for JBL.... and where can I actually go to listen and where should I go to actually buy the speakers in Mumbai....

I guess you'd be looking at the entry level floorstanders in most of those models. My suggestion is to dump the surround idea. Spend 30k on a pair of floorstanders and buy the Norge Concerto Gold amp (outputs arnd 100Wx2) for another 11 grand. You can get the latter directly from the norge at lammy.
