Hello TE Members,

I have PC which comes with P4 3.2 Ghz, 1 GB DDR Ram, Asus MB,

i want to know is it possible for me to install Vista on the above PC, if yes how will performance differ from XP & which version would be good i.e Home Edition or Premium Edition.

i basically use my PC to use the internet, CD/DVD burning & watching movies.

any inputs would be appreciated.:hap2:

1 GB RAM limits ur experience on VISTA...

It will be sluggish compared to XP...

so if really interested in VISTA increase ur RAM

Better stick with XP mate...and install some conversion Packs or
If u really want vista then get HOME EDITION which will do for u also upgrade ram to 2gb

1 GB RAM would make Vista very sluggish or unresponsive...Be it even day to day tasks...
Stick to XP and install Crystal XP Bricopacks...They llok really good and don't slow down ur system as well unlike other packs...:)

dude, if u have a gfx card like fx 5200 or a ati radeon 1550 it will be enough for ur config. a cousin of mine is having the same config viz.,

3 GHZ HT PROCCY
ASUS P5PEVM MOBO
1GB DDR MEM
80GB IDE HDD
XPERTIVISON X1550 ATI RADEON 256MB CARD
XTECH SMPS

VISTA WORKS XCELLENTLY IN HIS PC, AND ITS ME WHO ASSEMBLED HIS PC..

SO IF U A GFX CARD , IT WILL BE ALRIGHT...

EVEN IF U DONT HAVE A GFX CARD ALSO IT WILL WORK, BUT NOT THAT BAD,

A FRND OF MINE HAD VISTA WIH 768MB DDR RAM WITHOUT GFX CARD. ITS OK WITH THAT

NOW U DECIDE
i

My advice would be to stay put with your current XP installation for another 9 to 10 months, and go for Windows 7 directly. It makes little sense to buy a new copy of Vista right now.. i.e. assuming you are gonna buy a copy of Vista.. :P
