Help : iPhone 4S Jailbreak

Hi guys, Just got an iPhone 4s, Its running firmware 5.1(9B179) . Is it possible to Jailbreak this version? Can i Install Cydia in this? Went through iClarified forums , saw 2 methods viz RedSn0w and Absinthe .... Which would be good for a newbie like me? Easy to do? Please help.....:)

First of all update the iOS version to 5.1.1 and then use the following link from iClarified to JB your iPhone 4S...Enjoy Freedom !!

I recommend the Absinthe one as i have personally used that to JB my iPad 2. But redsn0w is also good and i have used it long before on my iPhone 4

Yes using iTunes and No, it won't block as you will be updating your firmware to 5.1.1 which is jailbreakable. Currently you have 5.1 and i do not have any idea about jailbreak availability for this firmware.

First of all install Zephyr from cydia to save clicking on that home button. It is a very good tweak. Lets you swipe between apps too.
Swipeselection (not sure if it is for iPhone too) to swipe between long sentences to make editing easier.

Tried installing zephyr, It says its a paid application... :-(

You need to add a repository (sort of source) to cydia and in this case you have to add the Insnelyi repository. Google on how to add this particular repository to cydia. There should be tutorials with pics.
 
Go to Cydia< Manage< Sources < Edit < Add < http:\\repo.insanelyi.com

Select Add anyway when prompted.
 
Tried Zephyr for the first time. Reminds me so much of my Pre3. If Apple can implement the way HP handled navigation and app opening closing, then they can do away with the home button completely and give a bigger screen with the same size. Zephyr is nearly there. Just the swipe left to go back is missing, otherwise a complete copy of the way HP implemented navigation on their WebOS. I really wish HP could have made something out of their OS. It had so much potential. Much better than BADA. If only it had the handful of apps that i use i wont ever feel the need to sell my Pre3.
 
Anyone can tell me some good app for GPS( for navigation in India with detailed maps) and also an app to tweak for pro long battery charge and life?

Have seen people recommending Sygic with Map My India Maps to work well for India. I think there is Navigon India too but not 100% sure.
 
this iPhone is driving me nuts, the battery is not lasting even for half day... if i turn off 3g,location services,wifi , it will extend till evening, hmmm... if im not using all these, why should i use this phone, better go for a nokia 1100... really a bad part from APPLE... (:annoyed::annoyed:

Chill out first.
Try to restore the FW once again.
Is your iPhone jb'ed before.
