PC Peripherals HELP: IR Blaster not working with new Airtel Digital STB

hi guys,

I recently got AverTV Volar go usb tv tuner card. Configured it with Win7 RTM.
I am using the HP OEM IR kit which includes the remote, IR Receiver and blaster.
Did manual ir learing in wmc7.

This is the front of the stb.

tried all possible locations for the ir blaster

whenever I use the airtel remote a red light comes

cannot seem to get it work at all :(
no light nothing
 
Reverse your blaster and then try. IMHO and going by my experience (I have 2 STBs connected to my system using 2 PVR-150s), your blasters are reversed.
 
Well, mine is in the same way as urs but on TataSky. The side which has the sticky tape is the back.

What i suggest is it would work, but u'll have to try keeping the blaster in many different places around pressing keys to find the place it works.
Ideally, my IR blaster worked when it was placed below the receiver on the STB. :) Give it a try.

From where did you source that? How much an IR repeater costs (need only a cheaper one)? I am also from Bangalore.
 
Finally got it working :D with a little help ;)

this is the only position it works. if I put it straight it does not work. Rite now its upside down backward.
