[HELP] left shift key problem in windoes 7.

When I press 'Left Shift + p' in windows 7, this thing pops up instead of a capital p.

also, 'left shift + t' changes the focus to the tabs in the taskbar. Really annoyed by this.

Does it happen no matter which window is open? even in desktop ?

yep. I first found it when I was typing in notepad.

first thing do you have any software installed which configured the shift+P to open above screen.

are you using any multimedia/gaming keyboard ?

Which keyboard? Most probably left shift key is conflicting with some other key. You spilled some liquid on the keyboard recently?

no... but left shift works fine with some other keys. Well, it's an old samsung keayboard; not a multimedia one.

I am sure your windows key is also being pressed when you press left shift. Open the key board and clear the connections.

Win 7 got some interesting shortcuts using windows key.

Looks like so. (right side 'shift + windows + p' brings out the same window. so.... )

I'll have a look inside the keyboard tomorrow.

The problem was 'Ants in my keyboard'.

Its the problem of the drivers ...the keyboard must have come with the drivers cd try installing that...Becoz That particular pop up is for external display...by default key is {function key + F4} on my laptop,or might be some other key in differnt keyboards...
Windows 7 keyboard drivers must be recognizing it as shift+P....
So, in my opinion this is a cent percent driver conflict....
Try..googling for the drivers of the keyboard... OR try changing the keyboard for testing...
