Gold series is for extremely high valued products, unless you own these gadgets , its best to go for the entry series from belkin. few indian makes such us "super pro" brand is much better than belkin as we had checked the same both internally & externally.its a great product made in india !!! many top brands just making huge profits by just maintaining a "general quality" More exterior finish to sell @ increased prices.
 
The Economy Surge Protectors from Belkin does not allow you to use heavy duty appliances like Iron etc which is a piece of cake for the Belkin Gold Series. Hence if you want to use home appliances on the surge protector invest more and get the Gold, else get the Economy :)

I have been using the Economy on my 2 laptops, modems, chargers, and other small devices and everything works perfectly fine. Belkin is highly reliable even though it charges a little more on the price front.
