I have shortlisted 3 laptops based on my needs(coding, productivity, EE software like AutoCAD).

-laptop 1 asus zenbook 13 oled (r5600u,16gb,512gb)
pros: lightweight and OLED panel
cons: small display 16:9 display

-laptop 2 ASUS s15 OLED (i5 12500H,16GB,512GB)
pros: bigger 15.6-inch OLED display and newer processor
cons: heavy 1.8 kg, 16:9 display

-laptop 3 LG gram 17 i5 8gm (i5-1135G, 8GB, 512gb)
pros: large 17-inch qhd+ display 16:10, good battery life, and lightweight 1.3kg
cons: 8 GB non-upgradable ram

The Asus S15 OLED is cheaper on their store

Would strongly suggest against that LG Gram. I have the same laptop and I like it, but I don't think 8GB RAM is enough anymore. I have 16GB 512GB model and have added another 512GB SSD for dual booting Linux.

The air intake is also super weird with a black tape blocking most of the intake causing absurd high thermals. It is intended to direct airflow from the VRMs to the CPU, but ends up just blocking airflow as a result.

I removed that tape of course and post that my LG Gram runs very cool, but has a significantly louder fan noise (coil whine types).

With those modifications, I'm actually super happy with my laptop, but yeah even 16GB is barely cutting it for me, so 8GB laptop is definitely dead on purchase. Get at least 16GB or ideally something which comes with 16GB that you can later upgrade to 32GB. Other than that, the weight, screen (16:10 17 inch color accurate screen), it's all amazing for the price.

Great laptop otherwise, but in your budget, you'll just get a bad config. I got my 16GB 512GB config for 89k
