15-20K Help me choose best in cdma.

Guys,
My dad is staunch user of cdma and needs handset to replace his old handset.
I was seeing local market and only thing that caught my attention is samsung primo duos.
Apparently dual standby.

But its priced around 5500 and other side of me thinks that i should pick some verizon droid which can work both on cdma gsm.

What you all suggest ?

go for droid razr m, if evdo is required through RUIM, else, get razr maxx for ultimate battery life.. both can be used as gsm or cdma SIM/RUIM(one at a time).

Even the telecom operators are trying to exit CDMA so it makes sense to switch to one yourself. If not, then as you yourself said, a dual tech phone would be better.
