help me configure wifi for hathway broadband

hi all,

I have hathway broadband connection and i today bought a brand new D-Link DIR 605L wireless router. I have never before connected one on Hathway so, i would appreciate help on how to connect it to the modem that they have provided me to use the internet.

IIRC, you don't need any configuration for hathway.
When I was using hathway, the cust-center guy told me hard reset the modem and connect the router to the hathway modem - and it worked.
You just need to secure the WLAN.
 
ok here's what i did and have no connectivity. I connected the rj45 jack from their modem into the WAN port of the dlink dir 605l router and connected LAN1 to the pc as i need desktop and wifi both. Upon doing this, i had no connectivity at all.
 
The weird, AFAIK Tp link routers configure themselves for Windows 8 and asked me to enter a password for the router. Didn't have to insert Tp link disc.

Dunno about dlink.
