help me in buying a digicam

hi all
planning to buy a digicam (12000-18000k).should i go for sony or cannon.
i saw some reviews of canon and sony.
what about Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Digital ELPH and Canon PowerShot A710 IS.

any models in SONY.

Canon S3IS, there is nothing better than this cam in this range.period. fellow TE mates can confirm this fact

Canon S3 IS is the best. If you want something smaller than A710 IS.... and if you want something smaller still then SD800IS.

Basically S3>A710>SD800...Manual features and size decrease in the same order

A710 if u think u may be interested in some experiment with manual controls.

If u are least concerned about manual control, get T100.

My call-A710 because once u start using manual, u won't be able to do without it.

thanks for the quick reply guyz.i checked out at my nearby store.... Canon S3IS is aprrox 20k and Canon PowerShot A710 IS is 16k. and the sony one the street price i asked at lamington road is 14k with 3months warranty(risky).

canon s3is hands down...if not concerned much about warranty (1 yr dealer warranty only),buy it for 17.5k from sify mall....
