help me virus gonna kill my pc

Hey guys ...

After using my mobile internet(EDGE) i got bored and went for beam connection and got the 1mbps plan.

And the speed is awesome.I get like 130 kbps on idm and 110 kbps stable for torrents.

The problem is my computer has badly got attacked by viruses .

Before when i was on edge my system was free from viruses and even if any thing got into my pc i would have removed it by using Linux(Manual deletion).

but after i started using internet by Beam,its been like only two days, a hell lot viruses are getting into my pc even i have deleted by linux.

So can any one tell me how to protect my pc.

And is it good to use Norton AV provided by Beam .

I am using windows xp SP3.

Also i thought that windows firewall isnt good to use so i switched it off.

Did i do the right thing.

I thought that most of the ppl dont use firewalls.

Can be, many local service providers connect all their users in a area in local network, without firewall or av, viruses can spread easily....

ok. thats how .. i didnot know that.. kaspersky internet security 2012 is out.. it can help op
 
By the way Beam tele provides you Symantec AntiVirus for free, you can download that from their login page if you don't have any anti virus installed.

Also my system in running very slow from the time i am using internet..

The change can be observed.

Before it wasnt so slow .

Dude, Never connect to internet without proper internet security software. Pl use Kaspersky 2001 OR Norton for online protection. ALso u can use Malwarebyte Antimalware for scanning.

do a proper cleanup of your pc.. aka full format.... obviously donot forget to backup the net settings( if ther is any).. then install whatever os you use with kaspersky internet security 2012 ... its very effective against any kind of malwares there exists... buy a valid key .. 260 bucks it is from the dealers section..
 
install the Norton Internet Security your ISP provides for you, update it and run full scan

Install HijackThis and do a process scan and look for anomalies if any (if possible post the results here too)

if you need help regarding Hijackthis, consult the Norton Forums/Avira Forums/Wilderssecurity Forums

if your Firewall is inadequate, consider installing Comodo Firewall, its solid and light enough and not too complicated for an advanced user like you

Hi,

First download the following from the net or purchase them.

1. Eset smart security v4

2. Malwarebytes Anti-malware

When u have installed them, make sure that u update them and once updated, disconnect the internet completly, either by unplugging the cable or turning off the router, whatever u have.

Now, scan ur pc using both these software's and get rid of the infections.

Regarding firewalls, well windows firewall is just too basic and won't help in such cases, therefore, i mentioned Eset smart security which is an internet security suite compromising of AV and FW.

This should do it for you.

You can always download the latest Norton Anti Virus definitions from Symantec Site and apply it after installing it. The installer won't/can't have the latest definition.

I found Symantec antivirus quite effective.
