The mobile in question is HTC Touch (3452) which I bought in June 2009.
Today in the morning I noticed that a small (damp) patch on the top right corner of the screen could be seen under the screenguard. I didn't pay much attention to it and left the house.
Later when I tried to use the phone I found out that the touchscreen was not working. I restarted the phone and kept tapping everywhere and finally the phone worked. I thought to myself that the worst was over and it was probably a glitch of some sort.
After that everytime I turned the screen off it would stop working again, I also realized that when I scribble the patched section of the screen it would momentarily start working.
The problem is, that trick is barely working now, and the top right corner happens to be the section to press if you want to see the minimized tasks or access the task manager. At times the minimized tasks would flick showing the minimized tasks and again minimizing them.
It is as if someone was constantly pressing that section. Due to this I was unable to backup the contacts to simcard.
Now, the patch that appeared under the screenguard was not present last night, moisture just can't appear out of nowhere, hence it is definitely not moisture. I haven't ever dropped the phone.
Please tell me what can be done and is taking it to the HTC service centre neccessary or can I get it fixed locally as I can't go there before Saturday and the phone is out of warranty anyway.
Thanks.
