I have a HP Officejet Pro L7380 All in One. It has a full black catridge(new, the one that came with the printer got used up) Cyan, Magenta and Yellow got used up and are empty.
Now the problem is the printer doesnt want to print in grayscale or black and white. It says please replace c, m, y catridges print cancelled. Selected all the right setting for black and white printing and actually it is just text.
Why do I have to buy all other colours for printing in black!:@
Can anyone help me in solving this problem?

I had the same isue, contacted HP... they said the printer is programmed in suh a way that it needs cartridg replacement.... the Bully way!!!

Actually I too face a similar situation but have felt too lazy to bother Googling. Would like to know if there are some 'workarounds'

Well, the case is almost same in all CYMK printers, this is the reason I sold off my Epson Printer, you need at least minimum color level to be present on CYM even if you will be using only Black, HP is right, they are programmed in that way. :(

This is why RGB printer rocks :D
