Beginner
I am currently running Windows 10.
My PC build is:
CPU: Intel 15- 4th generation
RAM: HyperX- 4 GB single slot
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H81M-S
Gfx card: Nvidia 650 TI

I am using my sony LED TV as the monitor, connected to the gfx card using HDMI cable.
For the past few weeks, while running games (roblox games ) or watching HD movies/videos in youtube, the monitor/TV will automatically shutdown. The PC is still running, no beep, nothing.
There wont be any error message of no input to monitor also. Just that the monitor/tv display stopped.
I am able to fix this by restarting every time this happen.
The gfx card driver is upto date. I tried changing power setting, tried changing RAM slot, tried cleaning RAM, gfx card, changed screen resolution, everything, but it still happen.
Need guidance on how to fix this issue. Is it because of using tv as the monitor?

No, the computer doesn't know or care about that.

It does sound like some kind of thermal or power issue. Try monitoring your temps to see if anything is reaching critical levels. Since the TV doesn't say there's a missing input, it's likely the graphics card that's failing here. A test run of OCCT should rule this out.

Which power supply are you using?

Try another hdmi port on tv or better try a monitor.
Mention cpu/gpu temps to get a better insight.
When this happens, note the time and on next reboot check in event logs what went wrong..

Few questions ?
Did you made any recent Software Or Hardware changes ?
Did you tried with another Display , does the issue still persist ?
Did you get any BSOD or simply the pc shuts down ?
What is the frequency of the Shutting down ?
Is You pc getting sufficient power ?
Post your cpu , gpu temps
One More Thing How old is your TV , there is a failsafe in most TV for over heating , Make sure its properly ventilated , Clean the Dust , if there is Dust Build up , Also Make sure the TV is Getting sufficient power , this mostly seems like the monitor is over heating or there is a power issue ...........
This few things will definately help us isolate the issue and come to a conclusion ...

Okay. I am using a 450W corsair psu.
Will monitor the temp as well as event log and revert.
I have already tried different hdmi cable and port, but the issue is still there.

1. No software/hardware changes.
2. Havent tried with another display,, but yes tried using dvi port with hdmi adapter, the issue still persist.
3. No BSOD, no error beep, and no the pc didnt shutdown. The display stopped with no error message. PC continues to run fine. Sound etxc are running okay. To restart the display, i hve to force shutdown pc and restart.
4. The frequency of display stopping especially when gaming, or watching hd videos is maybe 3/4 times within a span of 10-15 min. Or if i persist to playing games or warch videos, then after every 3/4 minutes.
5. Will check the temps and revert in the thread.
6. The tv is sony bravia led 42 inch. No issue of dust, overheating here.

I will again try using alternate hdmi cable, different port etc.
Psu being 450W, and gfx 650ti (non oc), i doubt power supply is the issue.
I can also try without the gfx card to rule out the gfx card error also.
install coretemp and check what is the cpu temperatures. also try to clean the system and see if the issue exist or not !
I did clean the system, remove and again put back the ram, gfx card etc. Remove additional hdd connection and run only the core ssd drive. But issue persist.
I will start monitoring the temp.

Any way to test a gfx card??

As you have already mentioned that the TV/ Monitor Automatically Shuts down While the PC is still running , hence it has to be an issue with the TV/Monitor not the pc , make sure the TV is getting sufficient power and its not overheating , most modern LED TVs Video PROCESSOR Shuts down due to overheating to prevent damage ...
