Hi guys as the title says i am frustated by my current internet plans and provider
I currently use aircel which is good but not good for huge downloads
I want to download 100-200 gb files p/m and i need unlimited internet badly
i want to use bsnl Hence I want to know what is the process of getting it and at how much expense
I have Huawei EC122 MTS modem so can i unlock it and use bsnl cdma sim on it
i live in Patna city, i have got info from several people that there is evdo coverage in my area
but problem is that speed differs from place to place only of 2-3 meters diff and the speed will either
reduce or increase dramatically, hence i would request any fellow member who lives in patna
to plzzzzzzzzzz give me their modem for just one day testing, in the meanwhile i will give them my aircel modem
with data plan top up so that they are not without internet even for one day Plzzzz i badly need help!
One more thing that i have heard is that bsnl gives some discount to gov. employees if yes what
is the procedure of getting that as my father is BDO ( block development officer )[DOUBLEPOST=1397669559][/DOUBLEPOST]bump

If it's not too late. I don't live in Patna any more but use BSNL EVDO as don't have any unlimited plans to choose from. I have used ZTE AC8700, Prithvi and Teracom modem(all three provided by BSNL). ZTE was best but since it was only REV.0 I switched to the other two modems and I warn you NOT to use any of them. They all suck. You will suffer what you mentioned as unstable connection. I am in process of acquiring a Sierra modem which forum members have been using successfully. It catches signal where rest just die. Also, yes you can get your MTS modem unlocked and then goto the BSNL wifi/wimax/evdo office and ask them to overwrite the software on the device. As it doesn't support SIM. For getting Gov. Employee disc approach the BSNL office.

Buy an unlocked ZTE AC2766 off Ebay. It will work.

For the discount, you will have to take postpaid plan. Since you are not sure about the signal in your area, first take a prepaid SIM. Use it for 1 month and then take a postpaid connection.
