hi friends,
Am new to techenclave..
planning to get a new pc this weekend..

heres my config along with the price quoted on 15th november

amd athlon 64 3000+ --- 6100/-
amd athlon 64 3200+ --- 8200/-
is it worth spending 2000 more for 3200+?

asus a8n e ---- 5400/-
msi k8n neo 4 platinum --- 9450/-
which motherboard is better in terms of features/performance ratio?

kingston 512 *2 ddr --- 5100/-
160 gb seagate sata ---4025/-

which dvd writer is better sony 810 or benq 1640? what abt lg and liteon1673 dvd writers .. how are they?

would like to go for 6600gt 128mb ... any suggestions for it?

logitech lx 700 ---3300/-

creative audigy 2zs --- 5900
compro videomate gold II +---- around 3000
speakers not sure... would like to go for 5.1 system.. how are logitech z-680 and are they available in mumbai???

would like to go for 17 or 19 inch lcd tft screen? which lcds are best with low response time...

could any1 suggest a good harware dealer in mumbai
are the prices quoted high?? any suggestions on above config??

Get the 3000+ if ur gonna overclock. If not get the 3200+ and make sure that its a Venice. Get the A8N-E - Serious bang for buck. Very stable and a solid performer. As for the RAM, get 512*2 TwinMOS which should cost u abt. 4,900. Get the BIG 6600GT which would cost u around 9,000. The Z-680 are not available anymore. Get the Logitech Z-5300 - 12, 500.
 
the sony dru810a is based on the benq 1640 so either one is a good choice.

if music is your thing dont look further than the altec lansing mx 5021.. if its gaming for for surround speakers like the logitechs
 
^^ Nah its the other way round, if you know the dealers its a tad lower. It all boils down to dealer's cut.

U wanna pay 2000Rs more for just extra 200Mhz.
The 3000+ is a better deal.

Asus A8N-E is a better choice.

Get Hynix or Twinmos

Get a Benq DW1640 the sony is also the same benq dw1640 but with a sony tag.
Get a Benq it will be cheaper.

Also "Switch" wants to sell his gigabyte 6600GT ask him u might get a gr8 deal.

Donno much about this mouse , but a MX518 @ Rs2500 is a gr8 gamming mouse [but only for right handed persons]

Get a Compre Videomate PVR/FM better clarity and cheaper , if u wanna use the extra bundled software with
the gold II then only get it else PVR/FM is the best bang for money its for 1600-1700 approx.

Logitech Z5300 for 5.1 Rs12K approx
Altec Lansing MX5021 Rs8.7-9 approx
Both are THX Certified.

A 17/19inch CRT will be better for gamming
17' - Samsung 793MB CRT
19' - Samsung 997DF CRT

At Lammy Apex , Prime ABGB , Computer Sel , Cassette World , Plug n Play etc...
I have heard about this also i have personally purchased from these shops at Lammy.
Also Mnemonic systems at borivali are gr8.
