Help ! No bullet sound in Max Payne 2

I downloaded Max Payne 2 from demonoid :ashamed: and installed it, however I do not hear the bullet sounds in the game. I tried reinstalling it, installed the patch :ashamed: , still no bullet sound. All the other sound effects seems to be there, I am only in the first part of the game. Is there a bug or the download is bad ?
 
Nothing wrong with the download I think. The Max Payne series gives a lot of issues. I can't even run Max Payne 1 without it crashing on my system in the intro.

There are two volume bars (Wave and Master) in your sound properties. Double click and see if you have both enabled(mostly this will be done).

See if the sound volume is increased in the game itself(you might have done this also).

Update your sound driver if you know your sound card and if there is a driver available.

make sure ur running the game in stereo mode. if ur running in surround 5.1 mode then the bullet sound can be only heard in centre speakers. if ur using 5.1 setup with 5.1 speakers and unable to hear bullet sound, switch it to stereo.

you might be right, downloading torrents isnt always a good thing! most of them dont work or they have trojans in them!:P hehe i really dont know, ive never had this problem, you might want to try and download again from a differant site or maybe just a differant .torrent:P sorry i cant help!
 
Hehehe...got it solved.....Under Audio settings>Multichannel Audio>I selected that option and I can hear the bullet sounds now, But I had tried that option before and it did not work.....so far so good.
