i am quite frusrated as i have searched all other sites for nvidia gt 240 1 gb ddr 5 versus ati hd 5670 review but i have not any review. that s why i come to tech enclave .i wan to purchase a good graphic card and my budget is 7000 inr my currentconfig is givn below
core 2 duo 7200
19' lcd
450 mora psu(local brand)
asus p5kvm motherboard
3 gb ddr2 (800)
1.5 tb hdd

please i m requesting 2 all of u please help me in chosing between vidia gt 240 1 gb ddr 5 versus ati hd 5670 also i m unable 2 upgrade my psu as budget tight .
please help..

+1 to this. There is not much of a performance difference between the 512MB and 1GB version of the HD5670.

The avg. price of 512MB GDDR5 Sapphire HD5670 is ~5k. As u have 2k left get the Gigabyte Super 460~2.2k as i has 3 years warranty and will leave u some headroom for upgrades :)

Are u planning to buy these online/ locally. I locally then from which place?
 
but i have a tight budget of 7000 inr .so pls tell me which 1 of these is better ..should i go for 5670 1gb or for gt 240 1gb ddr5 ..also if there is any better graphic card within my budget then please tell me.
please tell the latest price of nehru place if possible.

The generic local PSU's just has a label a 450w. But they truly cant even deliver 250w of clean power. U get what u pay for. These Rs.500-600 generic PSU use cheap components.

Well u have a 7k budget and a new HD5670 512MB GDDR5~5k and a FSP SAGAII 350w/400w~1.5k-2k does fit in ur budget of 7k :S Still what are u worrying about.

Mediahome is a dealer in TE too. Get the 512MB version of the HD5670 and a good PSU(like FSP SAGAII series) as it fits ur budget. You wont regret :)

For ur resolution(1366*768/1440*900 or lower) there is 0% difference between the 512MB and 1GB version. Only when the monitor size is 22" there is ~1% performance difference(Though the card is not powerful enough to let u play latest games in HD or higher resolutions)
 
thank you to all of you for your prompt response now after reading several articles of various graphic cards .i am thinking of the following three cards(i am increasing my budget now to maximum of 14000 inr)-
1) ati hd 5770 1gb
2) ati hd 5670 1 gb
3)galaxy gtx 460 758 mb (i want to know from anyone about this galaxy brand is this good)
i want to play games like crysis ,metro 2033 so which one of these three card is good in performance. If possible please give me the latest price of these cards in NEHRU PLACE DELHI
and please suggest me about the best brand which gives good service after sale

and about psu i have three psu in mind
1)Cooler Master 600W SMPS (RS600-PCARE3-EU) - 3700 inr
2)Corsair 550W Power Supply (CMPSU-550VX) - 4800 inr
3)Corsair 450W Power Supply (MPSU-450VX) - 400 inr
i am giving preference to cooler master as it will cost me less than corsair 550 plus it has more rated power.
