Hi guys

Just now installed Microsoft virtual Pc on my Winvista Home premium and i have installed windows xp on it, but the problem is that i cant get access toa ny other drive than C: and cd drive...:huh: how to get accesses to my other drives and install applications on it?? pls help me out...

Your virutal PC is just like another PC. So you can't access another PC's drive directly. Make sure that you have configured the TCP/IP protocol on the virtual PC. Then share all your drives in your host PC (original PC). Then you will be able to see all these shared drives on your virtual PC.

sure, there is some easy way to share your host PC drives with your virtual PC. In the virtual PC console, click on the settings button, and goto "shared folders" option. There you can select the folders/drive which you want to access from your virtual PC.

Let me know, if you need anymore details.

Make sure, you have installed "Virtual Machine Additions". To install this, start your virtual PC, then select "Action" menu, then select "Install or Update Virtual Machine Additions".

Once it is installed, restart your virtual PC. Then you can enable "Shared folder option from settings. Remember, when you try to enable this "Shared folder" option your virtual PC must be in running mode. (I mean start the virtual PC, then select "Settings".

Hope this helps.

Check your Host PC's IP address and default gateway. If your host PC address is 192.168.1.2, Then on your virtual PC set the IP address as 192.168.1.3 and use the same gateway address.
