Ups APC 650 va - 2.8k

Many Thanks!

Just change these parts ---
WD Blue AAKS 500GB - 2.4k - WD has 5 yrs warranty.
Corsair VX450 - 3.9kk - 5 years warranty.

thanks sumit! i will change these 2 parts.

@compaddict: how about XFX HD 5750(8.9k) as it is DDR5 card with DX11 support.

I heard that Nvidia Quadro FX 580 is a good card for graphic applications: anybody using it??

If you are going to use stuff like 3D Maya then you should get pro series card. Quadro from nVidia, or FireGL from ATI. 3D people swear by these. Gaming cards are not cut for hard core 3D work.

Leadtek QUADRO FX5800 4GB DDR-III @ 182727

You can check more cards here. It will give you good idea about prices, not saying you have to buy from here. PRO-cards are quite expensive.

Thanks asingh for ur efforts.

As I can't afford quadro fx card, can u tell me the second best option after quadro fx that can be compatible with this rig.

My budget is 10k for graphics card.

Sorry I gave the pricing for a wrong model. The model you wanted:

Leadtek QUADRO FX580 512MB DDR3 @ 10753/

Hope that makes you feel better, regarding pricing..!

i think one should start with rs.5000-8000 worth gaming graphic card, for 3d work. and if at some point in future it is not enough then only one should upgrade to a pro series.

Yup this is like affordable price :)
Is it compatible with my rig and where can I get this card in Chennai?

Not sure about your city. Though to be honest, am more into the 'gaming world'. Since you are investing 10K, and that is a lot of money, better to ask 3D professionals how good this card is for the type of work you want to do. Though your system is balanced fine to support it. Do note, this is not a gaming card--at all.

@OP: Maybe you can check Delta Peripherals in Richie Street, but IMO, a GTS250 will be okay for you as Pro series cards are for professionals only.

p.s. can someone tell me what drivers did they use for unmodded card in the comparison chart on techArp? are they comparing opengl on modded to opengl on unmodded or opengl on modded to directx on unmodded?
