help regarding virtual pc

I a running a windows 7 home 64 bit edition.
I am trying to install windows xp sp2 through virtual pc
I only have 2 drives C(win 7) and E

the issue is:
the installer shows entire drive E as unpartitioned space

now if i select a small space out of drive e would the entire drive would be formatted or only the selected part

better not use the inbuilt feature... its very restrictive.

you can try VirtualBox (Free), or Vmware Workstation (Paid)
 
did you select physical disk while creating the new virtual disk???

if yes then select the normal option.. and don't worry about what it says while installation until and unless you have used virtual drive...
 
Normal option will create virtual HDD which can be used with virtual pc.You can create multiple virtual HDDs and use them as virtual C:, D: and so on.
 
Are you referring to XP mode in Windows 7? Thought it was available only in professional edition & above. LINKY.

For Windows 7 Home, as suggested ^^, give VirtualBox a try....
