Till now i have been working in a Windows environment...& the modem used was Beetel Web Distributor 1...that is a USB connected device.
This one rocks with P2P apps....now i'll be shifting to Linux environment (Fedora 64 to be more precise) .... so guys please sugest me a Airtel Modem/router that is P2P friendly..i.e, which has open ports....i saw couple of howtos here long time back.....but they required to set the settings everytime the router was turned on.,...

i think many people will be using the P2Ps' here ....please help me out...

Well, that modem shold be detected in Linux too. At least, my friends have no problems with their DSL/cable modems in Linux. So, the question is, do you really need to change?

Well actually KK, theres a variety of Beetel modems which aren't natively detected in Linux. The Modem he's talking about is the TERA 100U which uses the Globespan Virata chipset. I use the same modem, and in Linux, i've always required additional ECIADSL drivers to get the modem running. It is a pain to do so each time.

The routers are apparently easier to configure and to get up and running.
