hi guys,
could someone help me decide on a tv tuner card
requirements
good quality video
should be able to record programmes
 
Budget ??

PixelView, Pinnacle, Leadtek r good brands and also not very costly, Hauppauge and Aver Media r one of best but costly too.

Dont buy Mercury, Intex, Frontech etc brands.

Search for Vista compatibility before buying.

I got pinacle PCTV PCI internal tv tuner card from Computer Empire in nehru place in delhi for -----1850

quality is decent
I think the only quality issue is with the cable connection I have
some of the channels which are clear are crystal clear on my monitor

records very well in mpeg or divx
though you cannot watch while recording as there is some delay in video in the live stream while recording

I have recorded 3 10 hour sessions
only one had a very very small sound delay
size 8-9gb in mpeg format which you should be able to compress though I haven't tried
