HELP required for a partion access in windows

i have a 4 partition in my hard drives which runs on a windows XP OS
.currently i am not able to access one of the partition.if i try to access the partition the system go to hang state.

can any one help me

Dood, forget everything else and take backups of your most imp files. This could easily spread to other partitions.

Take a backup if you can. And then run Partition Magic to check if it can solve the partition records.

go to command prompt and select the drive which u r facing the problem (if u can)run the chkdsk /r comand in it.it will ask u to select it on next restart.allow the system to scan on next reboot.This could help u to rectify this

Boot from any bootable CD like Hiren etc, backup data of Problematic partition to other location and format it. This would solve the problem.
