Help: Step-by-Step guide on making a collage like this

i was surfing through a friend's phot collection on facebook and found a pic like this.
It is a collage consisting of various pics joined al together

now what i want is to make one like this (or something better) for myself too.
Problem is that I have never used a photo-editing software before. So a small ste- by step guide would be really useful.
I plan to use the then obtained pic on a t-shirt.
Please help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
If you have Picasa installed in your PC, it has an option to create a collage. It's very easy. Just select all the photos you need in the collage, click the Create a collage button at the bottom of the screen, and go through the various options.
 
Yes..Picasa is the best user friendly software for making collage...

If you know how to use Photoshop..it's possible to make better and different types of collage using photoshop,,,,
