Earlier I had the BPL jumbo sized model 900T.
It was a 40 litre hulk. Gave trouble proportionate to its size and more. The magnetron itself was replaced twice. Plus the turntable motor, the transformer, etc.
Since the last few years we have a Godrej oven about 30 liters.
Got it at Vijay Sales one day offer for under 8 k with some freebies thrown in.
No problems thus far. I am told this is actually a Electrolux.
Regarding questions about usage.
Microwave is used more for re-heating than cooking. However, some cooking is possible.
Main issue with microwave cooking is absence of browning. Our Indian palate desires some browning so it is not so suitable for traditional Indian dishes.
Cakes too can be baked very efficiently in microwave mode but here again the browning is an issue. You would there not use microwave mode for a sponge cake. You can use it for a dark cake like a chocolate cake.
For more traditional cakes you use convection.
Grill is different from convection. It is for BBQing like kababs etc.
Hope this helps.
