Storage Solutions Help to create Dvd disc back up

Okey, i've got a dvd movie which plays pretty well in Dvd players. But when i put it into the computer, it shows up as a blank CD drive in windows explorer. :S Can't play the dvd using the media players either.

Now how can i create backups of this DVD?

Is there any specific program i can use? I've tried using alcohol 120% and Nero to create backups buy they don't detect the disc and give me errors. Someone please help :huh:

Its a Sony DVD RW AW-G170A. It reads most dvds fine, just some movie dvds show up like this. This is the DVD of a wedding, and its the last surviving copy. Just want to make a back up.
 
Weird problem. It occurs the other way round, generally. Get a backup using any of your friend's drive .. a LG, Liteon, Pioneer etc.
 
since its weird prob, u can try something out........

did u try powerdvd?

start powerdvd, then put the dvd in the drive and close it. see if, powerdvd detects the dvd.

similarly, start the dvd backup program before inserting the dvd in the drive.

this method is usually used whn u want to create a backup of a commercial dvd.

also, for dvd backup use a program like dvddecrypter / ripit4me /dvdfab.

Used isobuster to make a copy of the dvd to the comp. Now all i have to do is burn :clap:
