help! USB problem

hey peeps..
got a weird problem..
whnever i connect a device to the USB port of my comp.. i dnt get an indication tht the device is connected.. no new hardware found message.. nothin
wht cud b the problem?>
i tried connecting my mobile phone, modem and a thumb drive..
help me out

front or back USB ports ?

if its the front , they may not be connected to the mobo

goto device manager, uninstall the USB controllers.

they should b detected on the next reboot.

then, windows will install the usb drivers.

i once faced a similar prob, doing the above solved the prob.

you need to install the drivers using th cd provided with it
