HELP: Windows XP x64 doesn't detect my sound card & speakers

Hello.

I have Windows XP x64 installed on my PC, which also has a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy soundcard. The soundcard is connected to my 5.1 speakers (I connect them this way because my Motherboard doesn't seem to have the requisite slots for a 5.1).

Anyway, in the "Audio Devices" panel, I see the message that I have no Sound Devices connected to the PC. Hence, playing any media is out of the question and I can't even install Creative's dirvers because they don't recognize any compatible audio device.

I can verify that the problem isn't with my card/speakers because they are perfectly detected (and perfectly work) under Ubuntu, Fedora and Mint.

Do you have any tips on how I can get my sound device recognised? What do I do? Please help!

do you have audigy value card or some other model of audigy?

Is this your first time using your card with Xp 64bit?

pls post a screenshot of device manager if possible

if it is shown in device manager with yellow mark on it, then right click on it>reinstall driver>browse to the inf file (location in the driver disc).
This may turn to be a trial and hit method
