I am a MTNL triband user using a MTNL provided ADSL modem.
A friend in Canada, who used to be a Telus customer, changed his ISP and sent me his Telus provided 2Wire 2700HG-E modem/Ethernet/Wireless router.
I don't have any immediate need for the WiFi part but want to set it up to replace the original modem which i intend to return to MTNL.
I am able to access the setup page using the IP 192.168.1.254.
Does anyone have any experience using this modem?
Is it locked to the Telus ISP only?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi i m looking out answer for the same . if you have got the answer pls let me know

Yes it should work , AFAIK there this no difference in specification , all ADSL modems should be compatible , Just feed in the correct settings select PVC 0 as the virtual circuit , set VPI as 0 and VCI as 32 , enable PPPoE , enter your userid and pass (userid - phone number) , it should work

To change any of its settings requires credentials. I tried some which I found after googling but none of them worked.

The friend who gave it to me said it worked out of the box for him with Telus who supplied it.

Maybe they have already fed in the Telus settings , do a complete reset , its usually a small button on the back side of the router

Sorry friend. I am in the same situation as you. Only thing is that I wasn't motivated enough to fix the problem because:
1. I got it free
2. My existing ADSL modem/router is doing its job.
