I've narrowed it down to a P160 and super lanboy..It should be light as I move often. It should be able to cool down and house the following easily
4400+/P4 660, 2 gigs corsair 400DDR, or DDR2 667, a 7800GT/6800GT/X800XT and 2-3 SATA HD's, oh 2 dvd burners.

Now it should be spacious and cool but not heavy, how heavy is the P160?

My reason for selling the P180 was its weight....lovely cabby but maybe after I give up my gypsy existence. Build qual of the P180 is absolutely fab.
But I cannot cart the darn thing around :@

anyone P160 vs Super lanB

I use a P160 and I think it is GREAT !! :)

Strangely Saiyan asked me this same question yesterday in a PM and here is my answer to him....

=======================
P160 = 20.3"(H) x 19.7"(D) x 8.1"(W)

weight = 14.3 lbs

=======================
Super Lanboy = 16.75†high x 17†Depth x 8.25†wide

Weight: 8.8 lbs
=======================

P160 = no side window with normal panel - no carry strap - no blue LED fan supplied for front panel (normal fan only at back)

P160 has extra space on top of MoBo so can attach larger Heat Sinks. Has removal MoBo tray.

Now u know why he asked you!!!:P

He's a real nice, quiet guy....

Remember someone saying they couldn't believe he's my friend...well opposites do attract don't they!!! :bleh:

thanks for the data...

Is the P160 box smaller than the P180?? whats the P180's weight in lbs??

omigosh...I want the P160 in that case..now why isn't saiyan picking up...:@ darn it..

off key here but what should be the price of an MSI Nforce 4 ultra board.

I need to confirm as we're replacing one of our systems in Jabalpur. I thought the asus NF 4 U was pretty close to a POS (owners pls don't chew through me for this, cause I think asus is the best, just not this board :bleh: )

I am looking for a 3000+ venice also, and a PCI express graphics card which shouldn't be a TC or HM or any crap like that. max budget 18~20K card should be 256 MB any ideas??? Now though I'm in Chennai stuff will be got from Indore as I don't have time here...So add 1K for the price (chennai being cheaper)

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor (Socket 939, Venice, 90nm, L2 Cache: 512 KB) ADA3000BPBOX = Rs. 6000

MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum Motherboard (Socket 939) = Rs. 8000

MSI NX6200-TD256E 256 MB DDR non TC PCI-E Graphics Card

puhlezze don't say the S word.....makes me homesick thinking of Jabalpur and that yummy holiday....

naughty boy...to point that out, saiyan will take revenge for me :bleh:

Put it this way (P180) I am divorcing a fat, heavy babe.....:bleh: sounds good??

The P160 isn't too shabby...and I don't OC like a mad b**** like u :P So heat should be under control....

Serves ya right raining on my lil parade uhh charade...uhh parade ;)

I was kinda having the same doubt a few months back....

I have both cases, and I like them both. Here are some thoughts.

SuperLANBOY pros
-- Nice and light, as you would expect with the name LANBOY
-- Pretty roomy for a midtower
-- Good quality construction
-- love the hard drive rails
-- good quieting features
-- 120 mm fans give good airflow

SuperLANBOY cons
-- no mobo tray
-- blue LED lights were pretty and caught my eye, but can become annoying after the newness wears off, especially if you fold 24/7 and the d*mn thing is in your bedroom
-- would prefer a one-piece connector for the USB wires, instead of all the darn little individual connectors
P160 pros
-- nice and roomy full tower
-- relatively light for a full tower
-- quasi mobo tray
-- good quality construction (except for the face)
-- love the hard drive rails
-- good quieting features
-- 120 mm fans give good airflow

P160 cons
-- quasi mobo tray (it's removable, but you can't slide it out the back like some other makes)
-- would prefer a one-piece connector for the USB wires, instead of all the darn little individual connectors.

I guess I like the SuperLANBOY just a little bit better, because of it's portability, and lower cost.

Here is a forum link Hope it helps you....

Personally, I think they are both equally good...it finally comes down to one's taste and budget...the Super Lanboy is a bit flashing (no pun intended) and the P160 is a bit subdued in its styling

My 1.5 year old P160 came with a USB connector block and NOT indivitual connectors - I use this for connecting my external HDDs to the front panel USB connectors.

Has anyone checked for the availability of the P160 ? Was talking to Vinod abt the P160W with the windowed side panel and was informed that he would not be importing the P160 anymore coz' he had lost 100% on 5 pieces sold recently in various parts of the country :( . He told me that the front panel was extremely flimsy and was prone to damage as was the case with the 5 returns. So, if ur gonna get a P160 ( If anyone manages to...), u'll have to deal with it softer than ur GF or wife :bleh:

u mean my GF and other people's wives :bleh: doncha....This is the Vandal u talkin too not ..........:ohyeah:

but seriously sh1t.... I don't like soft parts (on my cabbies only pal)....so is the superlanboy my only bet??

PS vinod has cancelled the P160's with side panels not the regular ones, and he still has 2 in stock...

The front Blue LED fan in Super Lanboy is not that annoying, it never caught my eyes... i like it a lot. Only cons i found with SLB is that the front fan is not much effective in cooling coz the air gets blocked most of the time by the HDD cage.. but anyway it sucks in air to maintain a good airflow in the cabinet & cools only the HDD.

^@Saiyan-
I have been reading about this for a long time and Eazy recommending the extra fan for suction, etc..:)
That fan is a lowspeed= 1200rpm thing i guess!!:P
Why don't you try a higher speed= higher cfm 120!!:cool2:

My SLK3700AMB cabby had 1600rpm fan for exhaust, put in a Tricool 120 for intake and set it at 1200rpm!!
Just barely enough air flow to cover HDD, Couldn't feel it come beyond HDD bay!! Would provide some coolin but didn't feel OK:( !!
I fit the 1600 rpm fan for intake (Tricool @exhaust) and it manages to overcome the HDDs and just send enough air in!!:D
Dropped mobo, cpu and HDD temps down by a couple of DEGs!!:clap:
Meanwhile the Tricool@1200@exhaust is fine for now, and has rpm sensor too!!:)
Will bump it too 1600 when outside temps go up!!:)

yes BIKeINSTEIN.. Eazy advised me the same...so fitted in a Cooler Master 120mm UV Fan and it is doing its job very well in reducing the gfx card temp and the mobo chipset temp.
