Hi,

I had registered a domain with Eclipse Internet about 2 years back under a free domain name scheme that somebody posted here. Many of you got lucky, but by the time I registered, they closed it down saying that I needed to pay a transfer fee to transfer the domain and that I could not use it to host.

Now, the domain was supposed to expire in Nov 2008 but it got renewed till Nov 2009. Now I don't mind paying the transfer fee but I cannot login to Eclipse.

My e-mail ID is no longer in their system and their support e-mail is not replying back. How do I get my domain name back?

All I need is the EPP code for transferring it to namecheap, any idea, please help!

Btw, the domain name is www.anishsood.com

Thanks!

You've got mail :) Eclipse Internet is a reseller. The registrar is Tocows. They should be able to help.

Contact them here: Tucows Domain Name Help Center

Email and explain them the case and they'll help you get the domain name out of the clutches of these buggers

Administrative email(anishsood at gmail) still active? because whenever you need to transfer your domain, you would need this email id active.

As per whois records, your domain is expired:P
Also, try contacting your provider by other means.

and, You might receive a mail from TUCOWS WHOIS and reseller contact information.

like try calling them via free VIOP services like Gizmo

Record expires on 23-Nov-2008.

If a domain name has just expired the registrant has a window of time (specified as the Expiration Period) to renew their domain name through the registry.

@ Arya - I've e-mailed their support team hostmaster at eclipse.co.uk but no response from them. Anyways will try contacting Tucows directly.

@ Gaurish - Yep, mail ID is very much active and I've been mailing them from that ID only!

Your case is Firm:hap2:

as you have the administrative control it. in case of domain transfer, you need to get an EPP code for DNS. Fron next time, remember to Store EPP code in some place secret.

But hurry up, before that renewal window expires:P

^ Problem is, I cannot login in to my domain control panel because it does not accept my username or p/w and Forgot p/w says my e-mail cannot be found.

So how do I access the EPP code?

Keep Bugging your Registar i.e tucows.com. Mail them,Create a Support ticket,Call them

I am sure, eventually they would respond:P

^ Yeah will have to do that. 3 e-mails already and no response :/

Will try calling the UK number next week. Thanks for the help :)

No Problem.

next time, Always buy domain from a Reputed Registrar even it meant paying little extra as it would save you from hassles in near future.

Right, preferably avoid resellers. Even though I am one...I would suggest you otherwise. One dude who was a directi reseller left for US and with him went my domain name. I mailed Directi and got the domain back. But 18 days of downtime had taken away my regular site visitors.

I usually do all my purchasing from Namecheap, but this was a free offer and quite a few people on TE got lucky. Though the bug was sorted by the time I got there :P
