Hello,
My Gpu (8600gt) has been overheating wayy too much. After just around 15 minutes of Call of Duty MW 1/skyrim, both rivatuner and everest showed that my GPU was at 107C :ashamed: Even with the side cabinet kept open, there is no improvement. The idle temp is around 64-67C. There is no manual control for the GPU fan, its one of those automatic ones.
These are my specs
athlon x2 5200+
Asus M2N mx se plus
xfx 8600gt 256mb ddr3
transcend 2gb ddr2 @ 800mhz
Seagate 250gb HD
Gigabyte Superb 460W
I know that this is way higher than safe limits. I have also removed/cleaned the heatsink and fan, and reapplied the thermal paste with only 1-2C improvement.
But the wierd thing is that, even though the temperature is so high, i dont experience any artifacts, BSODs nor any freezing, everything plays soomthly. So maybe the sensor is just damaged?
The warranty for the product is over.
Any answer is much appreciated.
